Carrie King started her career with UA Local Union 5 in Washington, D.C., in 1990. In January 2000, she joined the United Association, working in the HVACR Service and Residential Department, where she managed national agreements and handled daily correspondence. She later moved to the training department, where she contributed to various UA certification processes, including test preparation, processing, and issuing certificates. In 2008, Carrie became the Manager of the UA Certifications department, overseeing programs such as welding, valve repair, instrumentation, foreman, industrial rigging, signal person, EPA Section 608, and AWS Certified Welding Inspector, as well as managing the UA’s fleet of mobile training trailers. She also delivered training at conferences and ITF programs. In April 2024, she was appointed UA Registrar and Certification Manager, merging the two departments. Her duties include coordinating regional and ITP courses, instructor assignments, college credit programs, certifications, and other responsibilities.
