Juvenal Calvo is currently President of TIPTIG USA, LLC and President of Republic Testing Laboratories, LLC and He is a Mechanical Engineer with 20 years of diverse engineering and hands-on welding, including experience with multi-national and regional manufactures in the Aerospace, Steel, Power, Nuclear, Pharmaceutical, and Oil & Gas industries. Mr. Calvo has demonstrated the ability to control cost and increase weld quality through the most effective use of weld processes, welder training, and joint design. He also has the ability to identify areas of weld strength and weakness, implement and/or develop company policies, and standards to optimize welding productivity in Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Nickel Alloy, and Titanium welding using FCAW, GTAW, GMAW, SAW, PAW SMAW, and Mechanized Process (orbital welding, flex automation, fixed automation. 

Assignments include engineering, construction maintenance, development, and consulting. 

• Provide expertise and interpretation on welding industry codes/standards/regulatory agency such as: ASME, API, ASTM, AWS. 

• Prepare technical reports as a result of research and development and preventive maintenance investigations. 

• Establishes welding procedures to guide production and welding personnel relating to specification restrictions, material processes, pre- and post-heating requirements that involve use of complex alloys, unusual fabrication methods, welding of critical joints, and complex post-heating requirements. 

• Evaluation of new developments in welding field for possible application to current welding problems or production processes. 

• Direct and coordinate technical personnel in performing inspections to ensure worker’s compliance with established welding procedures, restrictions, and standards; in testing welds for conformance with national code requirements; or testing welding personnel for certification.
