Liz Burke serves as president and chief executive officer of Burke & Company LLC, doing business as S.P. McCarl and Company, a leading mechanical contracting firm headquartered in Altoona, Pennsylvania, with a satellite office in State College. The company, along with its predecessor entities, has maintained a strong presence in the industry since its founding in 1973.
Liz joined S.P. McCarl and Company in 2011 as general manager of its service division, McCarl’s Preferred Services, following a successful career in finance, accounting, risk management and operations. Her leadership and strategic vision led to a series of rapid promotions, culminating in her appointment as president. In May 2019, she became the majority owner of the company.
Liz is actively engaged in her community, contributing her time and expertise to several organizations. Her involvement includes volunteer service within the industry on various boards, both local and national. She also supports numerous charitable initiatives and fosters a culture of community engagement among employees.
